Acraephia perspicillata
(Fabricius, 1781)

 

Synonyms: Fulgora perspicillata, Poiocera perspicillata, Cicada atrata, Cicada perspicillata

 

 

 

Acraephia perspicillata is a lantern fly which ranges from southern Mexico to northern Argentina. Little is known about its natural history. These were photographed in a secondary lowland tropical forest.
